Drop-in alternative for on and off-road diesel
With a paraffinic petrochemical structure, HVO meets EN 15940:2016 and ASTM D975 specifications, which means it can used as a drop-in alternative without needing to modify existing infrastructure – in most cases, you can simply top up and go!
Up to 10-year storage lifespan
HVO is 100% hydrocarbon (0% oxygen) which reduces the need for regular testing. It’s produced using a highly controlled hydrogenation and isomerisation process which removes impurities from the fuel, leaving a consistent, quality and paraffinic product.
Cuts net CO2 by up to 90%
HVO fuel is synthesised through the hydrotreatment of vegetable oils, which eliminates up to 90% of net CO2 emissions and significantly reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx), particulate matter (PM) and carbon monoxide (CO).
Derived from certified waste sources
Crown HVO fuel is manufactured from carbon that dervies from certified waste products. What’s more, it’s ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certificate) approved, ensuring both sustainability and product integrity.
FAME and fossil-free
HVO has zero FAME content so does not attract moisture, which encourages the growth of diesel bug. This means fewer filter changes and lower maintenance costs.
Clean burning fuel
HVO is free from aromatics, sulphur and metals, making it an extremely clean-burning fuel. What’s more, it reduces particulate production during combustion, reducing the ageing of engine oils whilst providing a more efficient burn.
Year-round performance
HVO has excellent low temperature performance, with a high cetane number of up to 90 and a low cloud point of -32oC, providing improved cold start performance, clean combustion, and less chance of waxing in extreme temperatures.
