What is high flash distillate kerosene?
High flash kerosene, like its name infers, is simply kerosene but with a higher flashpoint of 79°C and a boiling range of 198-237 °C. While both products are similar in terms of performance, high flash kerosene’s higher flash point means it’s safer and less prone to igniting compared to regular kerosene.
High flash kerosene uses
High flash kero is intended for industrial use as a solvent rather than for burning. Its main uses include washing parts, as a chemical intermediate, a cleaning solvent or as a general solvent.
HFK is also used as a refined hydrocarbon with a slow evaporation rate, it’s safer to use compared to other solvents.
When used for spray and sealing applications, high flash kerosene is more effective in wetting the aggregate surface as a binder.
