Rochdale AFC Ditches Diesel for Crown HVO
Play Fair, Clean Our Air
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve extended our partnership with Rochdale AFC for another six years which includes continuing to sponsor the front of shirts and holding the stadium naming rights.
As part of our continued sponsorship, we are also supplying the club with our renewable diesel fuel, Crown HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) to help reduce its environmental impact. The fuel can be used as a direct drop-in alternative to regular diesel, so the transition is completely seamless.
Rochdale AFC is committed to helping tackle climate change, so powering its machinery with our FAME-free, clean-burning fuel is a great step in the right direction.
Not only does the fuel significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, it’s at much less risk of contamination issues than regular diesel, as it’s free from FAME and sulphur.
With a high flashpoint, it offers improved safety, storage and handling compared to regular diesel, all which are key attributes for the groundsmen who work regularly with pitch machinery.
Chief Executive David Bottomley said: “Crown Oil is a wonderful fit with Rochdale Football Club. Not only are they locally based, but as a family-run business, they share the same vision and values. This is a fantastic commercial deal for both parties, and I would like to thank Crown Oil for their investment and commitment. We could not ask for a better sponsor. As always, we look forward to our continued partnership and working together in the future.”
Our Managing Director Matt Greensmith added: “We are extremely honoured to continue our partnership with Rochdale and it brings us great pleasure to sponsor the front of shirt and hold the naming rights to the Crown Oil Arena. We are proud to also supply our renewable clean diesel fuel, Crown HVO, to support the campaign Play Fair Clean Our Air, and would like to wish every success for the season ahead.”
