Oil delivery vehicle FAQ

Will a tanker’s hose reach my oil storage tank?

All delivery tankers have 53-metre (175-foot) hose reels; however, some of our smaller tankers have a 60-metre (200-foot) hose to assist with delivering fuel to hard to reach storage tanks.

Our artics do not have hose reels. Instead, fuel is delivered via a bulk hose which is around 12-metres (40-foot) but can be extended if needed.

So long as the delivery vehicle has access to your oil storage tank there is usually no problem with getting the fuel into the tank.

Where do your baby tankers deliver to?

Our baby tankers specialise in delivering oil to hard-to-reach locations – anywhere with a small road or limited access. If you require heating oil in the north west and accessibility is a concern, our baby tankers will be able to handle the delivery.

Does Crown Oil work to reduce emissions?

We’re very proud of our efforts to drive down our net CO2 emissions which is why we’ve transitioned our entire fleet over to HVO. We are also a UK leading supplier of HVO fuel to businesses across the UK.

Do I need to be home for my heating oil delivery?

Our fuel truck drivers are able to pump heating oil into your tank without you needing to be there – all we need is access to your oil storage tank.

I need multiple oils – can Crown Oil help?

We have tankers with three separate compartments to allow us to deliver various fuels to a single customer, so if you need both red diesel and white (DERV) diesel, we can help; and if you need red diesel, white diesel and kerosene we can deliver all three in one delivery too.

My oil storage tank is empty – can Crown Oil help?

Sounds like an emergency. We can get you up and running in just a few hours with our emergency red diesel delivery service. Please note, this service is unavailable to home heating oil customers due to the high costs that emergency delivery incurs.

If you would like to learn more or would like to to schedule one of our fuel tankers to deliver your fuel. Call our fuels experts today to discuss your requirements on 0330 123 1444.
